See, I've been drooling over this shot in the Rejuvenation catalog. Coveting. Yearning! The cabinet is like our cabinets. The exposed brick! I have exposed brick! It's perfect. It's what I aspire to in my happy little sink area.
We bought this awesome little Wolff sink thinking it'd work in our kitchen. It doesn't. It's too shallow. We paid too much for it's not-great-as-promised condition. I hope to use it someday. Maybe in my darkroom? Garage? Fabled attic art studio? In despair, I've moped around and even thought of settling for a "normal" kitchen sink from a big box store. It just didn't work in my mental picture. Imagine my surprise when Mom calls me to report this sink my scrap-collecting brother yoinked from somewhere. It looks just like this:
It's an earthenware sink from Trenton Potteries. It's just the sink - no neato stand. I can find a stand. Make one? Build it into a cabinet a la Rejuvenation? It's so cute. There's even a little washboard molded into one of the basins. The best part? This one is free. Don't tell my brother about the one on this page. There's a chunk missing from the upper back corner. It's cosmetic. It doesn't bug me. Why? Because it's FREE!!!
