Hello, houseblog! It's been awhile. I swear we still live here. And we're still sort of working on things.
Well, I am. In my wildest dreams. I had a dream that I hung the drywall in the dining room all by myself. I did all of the troubleshooting, heavy lifting...everything. No sweat. At least my dreams are able to get crap done.
In reality, I'd like to get the garage doors put on. And the fallen chimney put back together. And the kitchen ceiling caulked, painted and can-lighted. And finish priming and painting the living room so I can show y'all. I also found a very nice wood front door and a storm door for the kitchen - free!
Say hello to my new-old fainting couch. A friend gifted it to me. I immediately stripped it of the nasty, and the naked frame has been parked in the dining room. Mocking me. Taunting my insecure Inner Upholsterer. I'd be working faster if the fabric I love wasn't $35 per yard. Even with a discount coupon, that's huge.

It looks like you get to tie the springs together and to the frame. It is hard on your hands but in the end it is worth it. Good luck! You got plenty of work before you put the fabric on.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I have a "fainting couch" in my "parlor". (We like to call our rooms by obnoxiously old-fashioned names like the powder room and parlor...)
